Moms of the Month Part 2: Rachel L.

I am so excited to continue to show you the scenes behind MommyMovement Fitness!

Rachel L. is our second mom for Moms of the Month!  She does soooooo much for MMF.  I don't even know where to start!

Thank you Rachel for not only your knowledge on computers but your caring, love, dedication and motivation!  You truely are a blessing to me and MMF!

I'm Rachel Lovingfoss and I'm all over the place behind the scenes with Tonya!  I have a hard time saying, 'No', especially to Tonya because she has done so much for me!

Rachel and her two children at the Pumpkin Patch!

I do a lot of the internet and computer related stuff for Tonya, I built the templates for the Mommy Movement Fitness blog, and try to keep the information about classes and MiniMuscle news as up to date as possible.  I design and build her websites (with all the fantastic logos and graphics Heather Kaba cranks out!) and try to link all the pieces of her business together - I can't wait to start working on the new MommyMovementFitness.com website when it's time to get it online!

You might have seen me in class with my cameras taking pictures and video, as well.  I put together videos for Tonya, trying to showcase the great things about her classes, events, and even people!

I also help with the Helping Others part of her business.  I organize the Meals in Motion for moms with new babies in our MMF family, and also organize the part of Helping Other that is for moms who need help because of life in general and might need more than just a meal.  I have been overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness of all the women in Mommy Movement Fitness who have stepped up again and again to help people out.  I love being a part of it!

I'm a stay at home mom to my 2 wild and crazy kiddos, Jayden (4) and Willow (2), and try to cram all this stuff in while Jayden is at school in the afternoon and Willow is napping.  Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't!  :)

What is your favorite pair of shoes and why?Brown Boots : These are my favorite in winter, if it was summer, it'd be a pair of flippies.  I love them because they are super warm and I can slip them on and off without having to sit down and tie anything.  It saves time when I'm trying to get out the door with my kiddos.  I'm all about low-maintenance things!  :)

Fuzzy Acorn Slippers : These slippers were given to me by one of my brothers like 5 years ago, and I pretty much wear them everyday when the weather gets cold.  We don't wear shoes in our house, and in the winter my feet are always freezing, so these slippers are essential!  Plus I spend a ton of time during the day standing on the hard floor in the kitchen cooking and baking and feeding the hungry people around here and these slippers are super squishy, so it helps keep my feet from hurting!

Running Shoes : I can't live without these and pretty much have them on every morning, whether it's to go workout with Tonya, walk the dog, or go running.

Did you start Mommy Movement Fitness to lose weight?
I started coming Mommy Movement Fitness to workout, but mostly it was to meet people.  When my husband and I moved to Wichita 2.5 years ago, we were moving from a place where we were surrounded by family and coming to a place where we didn't know anybody.  Jayden was 2 years old and I was 5 months pregnant with Willow and was afraid of being stuck at home with 2 kids and no adults to interact with.  I have always been pretty active and was part of a similar workout group when I lived in Washington, so I had been doing internet searches looking for a group like that in Wichita.  I was so excited when I found Tonya.  I went to her very first class and have pretty much been coming everyday since then.  Even though, since I was pregnant, my goal wasn't to lose weight, but to just keep moving and keep myself strong, I ended up losing weight anyway.  Just 2 weeks after I had Willow, I dared myself to step on a scale (I'm not sure what I was thinking), but I ended up weighing less than I did when I got pregnant with Willow.  I was able to lose about 7 pounds more during one of her challenges and have been able to pretty much maintain my weight the past 2 years.
What formats do you do?  Have you done the challenge?
I go to Strollers in Motion, Fit & Tone, Core Fusion, and I am part of Moms in Motion Running Club.  And then I am really excited to start doing the YogaMotion class and getting in on the Triathlon club when those finally come about!

How has Mommy Movement Fitness changed your life and/or your families life?  Be as specific as you can!
Mommy Movement Fitness has provided me with so much.  I am in probably the best shape I've been in for a long time, but it is so much more than that.  It has given me a community to be involved and included in, my closest friends here in Wichita are people I met through MMF.  Even when I was huge and pregnant with Willow and stuck waddling in the back of the class, Tonya's mom, Lynda, was back there with me keeping me company (and telling me stories about Tonya!) and caring about me.  I don't mind helping Tonya with all these different parts of her business because I just love her and what she is doing, and want to help her succeed in anyway I can!

 Rachel and her husband!

Thank you Rachel for everything you do and for being such a wonderful person!
